About JoBella Bijoux

For years, I’ve been trying to satisfy my creative self with one outlet or another, but I never stuck with anything for the long haul. It wasn’t until I stumbled upon the work of another jewelry artisan that something clicked inside, and I felt the draw. I knew immediately that this was something I wanted to do. It feels like I’ve finally found the creative outlet within me that I’ve been looking for my whole life!

Someone recently asked me how I would describe my jewelry “style,” And my answer is… I don’t think I could ever pin myself down to one specific style.

I really don’t know what to call my creations. My pieces start out pretty basic, but I love learning and trying new techniques and just trusting whatever crazy ideas first hit me. Often, the finished product takes a turn somewhere within the process and ends up completely different (and better) than my initial vision! I rarely sketch out or plan my designs. It all depends on the feelings I get from the gems or beads I’m working with. I trust the process and let the creativity flow until the piece is finished.

If I had to give my creations a label, I would say that I’m pretty eclectic. Some pieces are old-school or have a vintage feel, some are ultra-girly and romantic, some are happy and fun, some are edgy and contemporary, and some are just straight-up glam. (Those are my favorite!

I also LOVE modern and trendy pieces…I think I’m pretty conservative, but I am ready to break out and get funky. I want to have a flirty and feminine look and be edgy, funky, and/or bohemian – even gypsy-like. I love working with big focal pendants that I call “mega-gems,” and love unique handmade glass beads that grab your attention, and you can proudly boast as a one-of-a-kind item.

When it’s all said and done, what I would love to be able to do is to mix a modern, bold flair with ultra-feminine, flirty, and sexy. I love super long earrings that dangle, and I LOVE the things that sparkle – the more sparkle, the better – and I love pieces that are full and “noisy” – you know, like when dangling beads click together? I love bracelets that have a lot of movement on my arm and necklaces that make a statement.

I love that the possibilities are endless, no matter what gems or beads I’m using! I love going through all my colors and shapes and trying to determine which combination would be the most exciting and attention-catching. Again, so many possibilities!
